About this course

 This is a two day in-depth course for those required to deliver first aid in remote or wilderness areas. It is ideal for Scouts leaders and older scouts or adults who regularly go camping or spend time in the wilderness. The course is fully HSE compliant and is internationally recognised for those who may work externally.

  5. Principles of Resuscitation including CPR, use of the AED and choking
  6. Disorders of Respiration including asthma
  7. Medical emergencies including heart attack and stroke
  8. Head injuries including updated guidelines on management of scalp wounds
  9. Wounds and Bleeding - including the updated guidelines for use of tourniquets and management of shock
  10. Bones, Joint and Muscle injuries including spinal restriction 
  11. Incident Management
  12. Heat and Cold Injuries
  13. Altered level of Consciousness including epilepsy
  14. Burns and Scalds
  15. Bites and Stings
  16. Poisoning
